ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Across parts of the world—particularly in Africa, and specifically Nigeria—challenges such as poor governance and inequality have contributed to an uneven distribution of wealth. As a result, a significant portion of the population struggles to meet basic needs, with many living in poverty and in urgent need of support.
It was in response to this reality that the **Engineer Sylvanus Ghasarah Foundation** was established. Driven by a deep sense of compassion and a lifelong commitment to humanity, Engr. Sylvanus Ghasarah envisioned a platform dedicated to uplifting the vulnerable, empowering the less privileged, and restoring dignity to those in need.
Guided by the belief that **charity begins at home, but should not end there**, the Foundation’s activities originate from local communities in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. From there, its impact extends across Benue State, throughout Nigeria, and beyond.
Founded in 2015 by Engr. S. Ghasarah—Chairman of Solar Nigachem Ltd—the Foundation builds on a long-standing tradition of personal philanthropy that began in his early years. At its core, the Foundation reflects the principle that **charity is the practical expression of love**—a value deeply rooted in faith and humanity.
Inspired by the timeless teaching of loving one’s neighbor as oneself, the Foundation is committed to translating compassion into action through meaningful and sustainable initiatives that promote peace, social development, and human dignity. Engr. Sylvanus Ghasarah’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian service and social good has earned him numerous recognitions and accolades.

The Engineer Sylvanus Ghasarah Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to improving lives, empowering communities, and restoring hope to the less privileged. Founded in 2015, the Foundation exists to address the growing challenges of poverty, inequality, and limited access to basic needs—particularly in Nigeria and across Africa.
OUR STORY
In many parts of the world, especially Nigeria, economic inequality has left a large percentage of people struggling to survive. Witnessing this reality firsthand, Engr. Sylvanus Ghasarah was inspired to take action. What began as a personal commitment to helping others grew into a structured mission—creating a foundation dedicated to uplifting the weak, supporting the vulnerable, and building a more equitable society.

Engr. Dr. Amb. Kua Benjamin is a distinguished professional and a key partner of the Engineer Sylvanus Ghasarah Foundation. As a major organizer, he plays a vital role in driving the Foundation’s vision, coordinating impactful initiatives, and strengthening its outreach efforts.

ABOUT FOUNDER
Engr. Sylvanus Ghasarah, Chairman of Solar Nigachem Ltd, is a man driven by compassion and a lifelong passion for helping others. Long before founding the organization, he was actively involved in charitable work from a young age. His dedication to peace, social impact, and humanitarian service has earned him widespread recognition. His vision continues to guide the Foundation in transforming lives and building a better future for all.
Engr. Sylvanus C. Ghasarah is the Chairman of Solar Nigachem Limited which was formerly known as Nigachem Nigeria Limited. He is a qualified Mining Engineer. His vision to be a Leader and commitment to excellence as well as his early retirement from salaried employment provided him ample opportunity to concentrate on Nigachem Nigeria Limited, a company he had earlier founded. Engr. Ghasarah was awarded with an honorary doctorate degree by the Commonwealth University, London and was also honoured with the Chieftaincy title of Baaloro 1 of Orile-Igbore in Ogun State where Solar Nigachem’s Manufacturing Factory is situated. He was recognized by The Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers as a Fellow of the Institute. He advises Government Agencies on matters concerning the Explosives Industry. He has since been managing the affairs of the company which initially concentrated on Ammonium Nitrate and later, as the working capital improved, went into Importation, Marketing and Sales of Civil Explosives and Accessories and finally manufacturing of civil explosives. With his knowledge in Management and Technical Courses/Seminars/factory visits in Nigeria, UK France, Poland, Sweden, USA, India, etc. and his vast experience in explosives industry spanning over 3 decades, he is more of a reference/consultant in explosives matters in Nigeria.
